A Letter to Our Family at Charleston Kettlebell Club

A Letter to Our Family at Charleston Kettlebell Club

With 2016 coming to a close and 2017 beginning, we’d like to take a moment to reflect on how much CKC has grown over the past year. In the past year, we hosted two Tactical Strength Challenges (with our largest turnout to date), led certification courses, expanded our family, and rebuilt the gym entirely. We’ve been through some tough times; Hurricane Matthew flooded us with 2-4″ of water and forced us to shut down for a week in order to remodel the gym. We say all this, good and bad, to tell you we could not have done it without you. One thing we strive for at CKC is continuous growth as a family. We don’t want to be just another gym or box where people simply go to exercise. We may give you a hard time for this or that, but we hope you know that it’s all done with love. At CKC we are building a community that helps one another become more than just a member. We are building a community that is there for one another, regardless of circumstance. We want to everyone to grow together, both in strength for everyday life, and in confidence that we have your back. Slowly but surely, this is what CKC is becoming. Mike and I agree that what we do at CKC is not for everyone. We mean this both in a physical way (constant focus on form, technique, etc.) and in a mental/emotional way. After the hurricane, Mike and I walked into the gym that Monday morning and wondered how we were going to manage to get this place back together; by the end of that day, we knew we could rebuild our gym with the support of the family we have built here at CKC. Friends from near and far donated time, money, and a helping hand to help us reopen in one week. Thank you for being there for us when we needed you most. We can never thank you enough. As we’ve said before, you mean a lot to us, and we are proud to call you our family. As with every family, we shall continue to grow.

We would like to invite you, your friends, and friends of your friends to our first annual “Holiday Hangover” party on January 21st at Charleston Kettlebell Club. We will have our normal 8:30am class that morning, then starting at 11am, we will fire up the grill with some burgers and tap the keg. The first burger is on us, and after that, you will need to earn your second and third by performing feats of strength for all of our friends–both new and old.

FYI: If you want something besides cheese, ketchup and mustard on your burger please bring it. It’s open potluck style, so all food is welcome.

Let’s make 2017 our Strongest year yet!

Your Favorite Neighborhood Gym,

Charleston Kettlebell Club
