Spring 2016 Tactical Strength Challenge

The new year is upon us and many of you have resolved to start training, lose some weight, get lean, etc…  Many of you have decided to join a gym or start some classes.  Good for you.  Resolutions can be a good way to make a positive change in your life, but what if they are too general? As the old saying goes, “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.” Do you have a specific goal with a specific date?  If not, may we suggest a worthy goal:  April 23rd, 2016, Charleston Kettlebell Club is hosting the Spring Tactical Strength Challenge and registration has started.

What is the Tactical Strength Challenge?  It is a world-wide competition held at multiple locations on the same day.  The TSC consists of three events designed to challenge three types of strength training: maximal strength, bodyweight strength and cardio-vascular endurance.  The events are a max deadlift, a maximum number of pullups and maximum repetitions of a kettlebell snatch in 5 minutes.  http://www.strongfirst.com/tsc-rules/ How’s that for functional?  There are different divisions including Open, Elite, Masters and Novice for both men and women.  You can compete in just 1 or 2 out of 3 of the events if you would like to specialize but we suggest you to try all 3.

We want to encourage our students, our friends, other gyms (and boxes) and the community at large to sign up and start training today. This is a great opportunity to learn new lifts if you are a novice or set new records if you are experienced.  Winning is in the commitment, practice and completion. To make sure that you are getting the proper support for your TSC journey, will be hosting Tactical Strength Challenge-Specific Classes for anyone that signs up to compete in the spring at Charleston Kettlebell Club.   Sign up today and contact us for more information on the TSC Class.  The rules are simple, the training is hard, but the opportunity to say you faced the Tactical Strength Challenge and survived makes it all worthwhile.  Plus you get a cool t-shirt!
