Charleston's School of Strength

We are Charleston Kettlebell Club: a locally owned school of strength. We provide our students with instruction to promote real world strength and conditioning utilizing kettlebells, barbells, and bodyweight movements. We offer personalized instructional training and group classes. Our mission is to instruct our students to move better, develop the skill of strength, become resilient, and set an example for the world!

Movement

We focus on quality movement before quantity. Learn and master the most important patterns for you and regain your mobility, flexibility, and strength.

Time

We teach an intentionally inefficient training style which delivers surprisingly efficient results. You will learn to work hard and smart to see improvement in less time.

Nutrition

We guide you to improve your diet quickly with simple, healthy choices, tried and true methods, and old-fashioned accountability. Get strong in the club but get lean in the kitchen!

Strength

We believe that strength is the master quality and, like bacon, makes everything better. We find that chasing strength always leads you to your goals no matter what they may be. We can help you achieve any goal, but you must be StrongFirst.

Practice

Consistency is the key to success in any endeavor. We treat all of our training as practice and offer many ways that allow you the opportunity to stay consistent in your journey.

Weight Loss

By combining a well programmed strength practice with simple nutrition and lifestyle coaching you will learn how to lose weight in a healthy manner and become a better you. In practicing these strategies and creating healthy habits, long-term success is our goal!

Meet Our Team

Mike Fickling

Owner and Instructor

Mike is the Co-Owner and Founder of Charleston Kettlebell Club and has been personal training for over 10 years. Growing up in rural South Carolina, being physically active came naturally to Mike. His love for the outdoors, sports, competition and later exposure to Wing Chun Kung Fu placed him firmly on his path to learning and training. Now as a dedicated husband, father, surfer, and lifter of heavy things, he continually pursues strength and excellence through his passion. Mike enjoys guiding students from all walks of life to become healthier, stronger and anti-fragile.

Brett Bracken, MS

Owner and Instructor

Brett is the Co-Owner of Charleston Kettlebell Club. He attended Charleston Southern University as member of the track and field team. He finished with multiple school records and Big South all-conference awards in the Pole Vault. He holds a B.S. in Kinesiology from CSU and Masters in Health Exercise and Sport Science from The Citadel. He currently holds certification of a CHEK Practitioner Level I, CHEK Golf Biomechanics, and ACSM-HFS.
